    About the Department

    Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.

    We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.

    Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

    Job Responsibilities

    The expectation of the Quality Engineering Lead is to work with Build development teams to deliver better quality software (less code bugs, avoiding incorrect understanding of requirements or specifications, preventing incidents) more efficiently (time and cost savings).

    • Drive developer productivity and cost reduction on development.
    • Reduce defect leakage to SIT and UAT from current state.
    • Reduce defect density.
    • Drive in-dev test automation for microservices / APIs for all builds.
    • Ensure compliance to Code Quality, Branching strategy.
    • Ensure compliance to the single code base approach.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / Engineering
    • Experience as a Quality Engineer applying good software engineering practices and quality assurance tools to achieve both quality and efficiency in software development.
    • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience and deep technical skills in the following technologies:
      • Java technology
        • Java Spring, Spring Boot and Spring Batch
        • Apache Camel
        • Object Relational Model for persistence (example MyBatis)
        • Java testing (example JUnit and JMeter)
      • Web technology (ReactJS)
      • API technology
        • API Design patterns
        • API Security (JWT, Oauth2)
        • API testing (example Rest Assured and API mocking tools)
      • Continuous Integration (DevOps) technology (Bitbucket, Jenkins and SonarQube)
    • Experience as a Developer, delivering the following:
      • Web and Online applications (based on the Microservices architecture pattern)
      • Batch and Reporting applications
    • Experience as a System Analyst, delivering solution design, functional specifications, Open API specifications, technical design
    • Experience in Linux, JBOSS or OpenShift container platform will be an advantage.
    • Domain knowledge in banking, in particular payments (example SWIFT, ISO20022), will be an advantage.
    • Extensive exposure with project SDLC methodology – initiation, planning, tracking, requirement analysis, design, development, testing, implementation on open systems.
    • Keep abreast of technology trends in application development.
    • Strong conceptual and analytical skills – demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills. Must be attentive to details.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • A strong and assertive communicator in speaking and writing.
    • Resolving and influencing the positive outcome of conflicting objectives and priorities.
